11 Howard’s guiding principle is conscious hospitality. What does conscious hospitality mean? It means that we approach each aspect of the hotel—from design to location to amenities to our ultramodern brand of service—with awareness, purpose, and thoughtful consideration. This consciousness reaches beyond the property to the community, motivating us to give back to charitable organizations who are doing important work. In fact, when guests book directly with 11 Howard, we donate a portion of the money to charity.

Conscious hospitality begins with 11 Howard’s design by Anda Andrei, our creative director, and Space Copenhagen, a Danish interior design firm known for breaking boundaries and imaginatively balancing opposites. At 11 Howard, the timeless DNA of Danish minimalism is fused with New York realness. The resulting aesthetic is characterized by natural materials, subdued colors, and painstaking craft. Throughout the hotel, bespoke furniture and meticulously curated art objects subtly frame the guest experience.

11 Howard has reinvented social spaces, making them multifunctional and moving them to the second floor, as true extensions of the guest rooms. With plentiful tables and chairs, The Library is an ideal place to work, meet, sip tea in the afternoon, or unwind with a cocktail in the evening. The Library features wide-plank wood floors, plaster walls, plush area rugs, and furniture collected from around the world. Images by renowned Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto grace the walls.
